Tree Replacement Project
Posted on May 9th, 2013

With the help of three of Lexington’s finest contractors, the City’s matching grant and the Boy Scouts (with their Service Project assistance), the Board was able to make all these improvements for a fraction of what retail cost would normally be for all the work to be completed.
With the current dead and dying trees and watching the steady decline of the landscaping  over the years in the residential common areas,  the landscape committee consulted with The Lexington Urban Forester  to discuss their proposed plan to use several different drought tolerant varieties of trees better suited for a roadway center island where clay soil conditions are less than favorable. The new  replacement trees for the center islands are beginning to go in today and should be completed by the end of next week (weather permitting).  In addition to the tree renovation in the center islands, the Board has scheduled for the replacement of dead /dying trees and evergreens along Beaumont Centre Lane on both sides of the black horse fence which will also be completed before the end of the month.  The last piece of the Boards renovation project is to landscape the 16 center island tips where evergreens, perennials and annual color will be added for the long term beautification of our neighborhood.  We realize the visual impact now is a dramatic change, but recognize the completed landscaping project will be a spectacular, long lasting, improvement that will beautify the Beaumont Neighborhood for many years to come.
